The Southside is highly known for the downtown area consisting of provincial government departments, historical buildings, banks, law firms, and numerous businesses. Many of the city's cultural attractions are located here, such as The Playhouse, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, and Science East. Large Victorian-era residences are also featured here. There is an area called College Hill which is the location of the campuses of University of New Brunswick and Saint Thomas University. Southwest of the universities is the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. On top of the hill is the shopping district which includes the largest mall in the city- The Regent Mall. Located southeast is the famous O'Dell Park. There will always be something for you and your family to do when you reside to the Southside of Fredericton.
